On 7 December, the prestigious ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2024 concluded with an extraordinary display of programming excellence hosted by Daffodil International University at Daffodil Smart City, Savar. The brightest minds from across the region came together for this grand event, showcasing their talent, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary ICT Division of Ministry of Posts Telecommunication and Information Technology was present as the chief guest at the Closing and Award Giving Ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners. Mr. Abul Kashem Md. Shirin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dutch Bangla Bank Ltd. and Dr. Muhammad Mehedi Hassan, Executive Director (Additional Charge) Bangladesh Computer Council were present as the special guests.

Presided over by Prof. Dr. M Lutfar Rahman the prize giving ceremony was addressed by Prof. Dr. S M Mahabub Ul Haque Mazumder, Pro Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University, Regional Contest Director (Dhaka Site) Prof. Dr. Syed Akter Hossain and Chief Judge Chief Judge of the contest Prof. Dr. Shahriar Monzur.

With intense competition and remarkable performances, the top three positions were secured by some of the most talented teams. SUSTFanatics from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology emerged as the Champion, solving 7 problems with 948 points. They were followed by DU Singularity from the University of Dhaka as the 1st Runner-Up, solving 7 problems with 1198 points, and DU Primordius, also from the University of Dhaka, as the 2nd Runner-Up, solving 6 problems with 674 points.

DIU_Strygwyr from Daffodil International University, secured the 11th position, solving 5 problems with 671 points, showcasing an inspiring performance on home ground. Additionally, the IOI1 team from the International Olympiad in Informatics achieved an impressive 10th position, solving 5 problems with 582 points.

A special mention goes to the Best Girls' Team, IUT ChronicOverthinkers from the Islamic University of Technology, who secured the 91st position, solving 3 problems with 332 points. Their participation and determination are truly commendable and reflect the growing representation of women in competitive programming.

This event not only celebrated the spirit of competitive programming but also created a platform for innovation and collaboration. The day was filled with challenges, teamwork, and excitement, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
