The IIEC- IUBAT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre attracted participants from over 120 universities, Polytechnics, and colleges of Bangladesh for the second edition of its National Technological Competition, TechnoCrats V2. Held on the IUBAT- International University of Business Agriculture and Technology campus on 7th December, the event served as a common ground for innovation, teamwork, and creativity, with eight diverse segments, challenging competitors to push their boundaries. Students, tech enthusiasts, and professionals gathered to witness the future innovative technicians in action, making the event an unforgettable celebration of skill and innovation.
The competition’s segments were tailored to test various technical and entrepreneurial abilities. The Drone Racing Challenge was a thrilling start, with participants racing their custom-built drones through complex obstacle courses. The Soccer Bot competition provided lighter, interactive entertainment, with robots programmed to pass and score. One of the highlights was the Battle Bot Fight, where fierce mechanical warriors clashed in a display of engineering brilliance and tactical strategies. “We spent months perfecting our bot, and seeing it hold its ground was an unforgettable experience,” said a participant from Dhaka.
The Line Follow-Up competition, tested precision and coding expertise as robots navigated intricate pathways. For innovators, the Project Showcasing segment offered a platform to present groundbreaking ideas, from renewable energy solutions to healthcare innovations. Business minds found their niche in the Business Case Study competition which posed complex real-life business challenges requiring out-of-the-box solutions. The Techathon challenged participants to develop technical solutions under tight deadlines. Meanwhile, the Dhaka Divisional Hackathon focused on coding and software development to create functional and impactful applications.
The event was honored by the presence of esteemed guests. Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT and President of the Program, remarked, “Innovation flourishes where creativity meets opportunity, and this competition exemplifies that spirit.” Chief Guest Md. Munim Hassan, Director General of the Department of Patent Design and Trademarks, emphasized, “Encouraging innovative ideas is as vital as fostering them, especially for the growth of a knowledge-driven society.”
Guest of Honor Prof. Selina Nargis, Treasurer and Director Administration of IUBAT, also encouraged the participants to deal with new innovative thoughts. Their presence, along with contributions from Special Guests Ariful Hasan Opu, CEO, e-Soft Navigator & Universal Judge, NASA Space Apps Challenge, Chandan Z Gomes, Senior Director – Operations, World Vision Bangladesh, Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid Chayon Chair- IIEC- IUBAT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center elevated the event to a remarkable level of prestige and inspiration.
The competition's diverse segments spotlighted the best minds from institutions across Bangladesh. In the Drone Racing Challenge, Team Hypersonic from Shaid Suhrawardy College secured the top spot, followed by Team from Iqbal Siddiquee Society School and College and Team from (UIU) as runner-up. Team Black Saber from Shahid Suhrawardy Collage triumphed in the Soccer Bot competition, with AUST as runners-up and EWU in third place. In the Line Follow-Up, Team BetterBots from SUST claimed the title, with IUT and Prime Asia University as runners-up.
The Project Showcasing segment crowned Team Tech Bee from MGMHA College as the winner, with AUST in second and IUB University in third. Team World Vision Bangladesh Waste to Wealth awarded Sustainable Project. Team 505 from the University of Dhaka secured the Business Case Study title, with Brac University and IUT trailing closely. In the intense Techathon, Team the Jadugar from BUBT secured victory, with SUST and UIU as runners-up. The Dhaka Divisional Hackathon awarded Team XtraDrill the championship from IUT University, followed by BRAC University in second place and IUT in third place. IUBAT Top Rising awarded Team IUBAT_Hyprctl.
The grand prize-giving ceremony celebrated the winners and acknowledged the creativity and hard work of all participants. Certificates were distributed to every contestant, with a total prize pool of BDT 420,000 awarded to the top performers across the segments. The event concluded with heartfelt applause and a shared sense of accomplishment, as TechnoCrats V2 left a lasting impression of collaboration, ingenuity, and the limitless potential of Bangladesh's next generation of innovators. TechnoCrats V2 ended on a high note, inspiring participants to reach greater heights by bringing together the brightest minds from across Bangladesh.
