IU holds central orientation for freshers

First year freshers' central orientation for the 2023-24 academic session at Islamic University (IU) was held on Tuesday at the Bir Srestho Hamidur Rahman Auditorium, marked by festivity and much enthusiasm.

IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah graced the occasion as the chief guest, while student advisor Professor Dr Obayedul Islam welcomed newly enrolled students over the event. Former Vice-Chancellor of Manarat International University, Professor Dr. Choudhury Mahmood Hasan, served as the orientation speaker, and BSMRSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Hossain Uddin Shekar attended as the guest of honor. Other notable speakers included IU Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Yeaqub Ali, Treasurer Professor Dr. Jahangir Alam, and Director General of Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought Dr. M. Abdul Aziz, who addressed the freshers as special guests.

The event welcomed around 1,500 newly enrolled students of all departments aiming to introduce with university's framework. During the orientation, students received copies of the university's code of conduct to familiarize themselves with university rules, regulations, and support systems.

Addressing the new students, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah said, Today, we celebrate our freshers from all departments. In the future, your classroom will be your sacred place of learning, and your teachers will become your closest guides. You will pursue the highest standards of knowledge at our specialized university.

The event was an opportunity to inspire and motivate the new batch of students as they embarked on their academic journey.
