Victory Day was celebrated at Dhaka University on Monday through various programs. A wide range of activities were organized throughout the day, according to the Public Relations Office of the university. The events included raising the national flag at dawn on the university's important buildings, gathering at the Smriti Chirantan Square, and offering floral tributes at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan, led the ceremony along with teachers, students, officials, and staff members of the university.
Additionally, exhibitions and screenings of Liberation War-themed pictures, films, and documentaries were held at various residential halls. A voluntary blood donation drive was also organized at the Student-Teacher Center (TSC) by the student organization Bandhan.
On the occasion, important buildings such as the Arts Building, Curzon Hall, TSC, and Smriti Chirantan were illuminated with decorative lights.
After Juhur prayers, special doa (prayers) were offered at the university's central mosque, Masjidul Jamia, as well as at various halls and residential area mosques. These prayers sought forgiveness for the martyrs and prayed for the prosperity and development of the country.
Special prayers for the peace of the martyrs' souls were also held at other places of worship on campus.
Furthermore, this evening, a cultural program will be held at the TSC auditorium, organized by the university's Department of Music, Department of Dance, and Department of Theatre and Performance Studies.
