The authority of Islamic University (IU) appointed Professor Jamal Uddin as the new chairman of Accounting and Information Systems department, effective today. An official notice was singed by registrar HM Ali Hasan confirmed the matter.
The 'Chairmanship Handover Ceremony' was held at 12:00 pm at the department’s teacher’s conference room, located in the Business Administration faculty building. The event was attended by teachers including Business Administration Faculty Dean Prof Dr Shelina Nasrin, former Teachers’ Association President Prof Dr Mizanoor Rahman, former Faculty Dean Prof Dr Saiful Islam, Prof Dr Abu Sina, Prof Dr Ali Noor Rahman and several members from the department.
Professor Jamal Uddin succeeds Professor Dr Zakir Hossain, who had held the chairmanship since January 2022. Speaking on his appointment, Professor Jamal Uddin said, I feel proud to take this responsibility from one of my students. I intend to continue the momentum set by previous chairmen and will take all necessary initiatives for the welfare of the students," he said.
During the ceremony, outgoing chairman Professor Dr Zakir Hossain said, I have done my duty to the best of my ability, and I received great support from everyone in the department. I extend my congratulations to the new chairman.
