International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), the first private university in Bangladesh, proudly celebrates its 34th anniversary. Founded in 1991 by renowned academician Professor Dr. M. Alimullah Miyan, a former professor and director of IBA at the University of Dhaka, IUBAT has become a pioneer in private higher education in the country.

Situated on a lush 20-acre campus in Uttara, Dhaka, IUBAT stands as a unique institution among private universities in Bangladesh. On this special occasion, heartfelt congratulations were extended to all by the university’s Chairman, Zubair Alim, and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abdur Rab.

As a trailblazer in private education, IUBAT introduced several first-of-their-kind programs in Bangladesh, including BBA, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and private programs in Agriculture, Nursing, and Mechanical Engineering. Currently, thousands of students from both Bangladesh and abroad are pursuing their education across 14 departments under six faculties at IUBAT.

Over the past three decades, IUBAT graduates have made remarkable contributions to both local and international organizations, earning recognition for their skills and accomplishments and enhancing the reputation of their alma mater.

IUBAT has also achieved a strong position in research and rankings. In 2024, the university ranked fourth in research among private universities in Bangladesh. It has also been recognized in global rankings, including QS and Times Higher Education, where IUBAT holds a leading position.

Committed to ensuring access to higher education for students from all economic backgrounds, IUBAT offers various financial aid opportunities. Scholarships based on SSC and HSC or equivalent results provide up to 100% tuition coverage. Additionally, a 15% special scholarship is available for female students, alongside over 120 other scholarship categories. Financial assistance is also provided for meritorious but financially constrained students.

IUBAT remains dedicated to playing a leading role in the educational development of Bangladesh and is determined to continue its journey of excellence in the years to come.
