BAU Journalists’ Association gets new body

The Bangladesh Agricultural University Journalists’ Association (BAUJA) has formed its executive committee for 2025. Habibur Rahman Rony, the campus correspondent of Ajker Patrika, elected as president, and Md. Aman Ullah, the campus correspondent of The Daily Ittefaq, elected as general secretary.

The election took place on Thursday, December 16, at the association's office. Outgoing president Rafi Ullah Fuad served as the chief election commissioner, while former presidents Md. Hatem Ali and Md. Shahiduzzaman Sagar acted as assistant election commissioners.

The newly formed 15-member committee includes Musaddiqul Islam Tanvir of Daily Manab Zamin as vice president and Esrat Jahan of Prothom Alo as joint secretary. Siddhartha Chakraborty from Daily Janbani was elected as the organizing secretary, while Md. Likhon Islam of New age will serve as treasurer. Md. Riaz Hossain of daily Amader Shomoy was elected as office secretary, and Md. Fazlul Karim Siam from Kaler Kantho became the Press and publications secretary. Saieda Jahan Khuki of daily Amar Sangbad took the role of information and technology secretary, and Sumon Gazi of Daily Ajker Probhaho was chosen as the sports and cultural secretary.

The committee also includes Shahin Sardar of Jugantor, Atikur Rahman of Dainik Bangla, and Taniul Karim Jim of Kalbela as general members. Md. Rafi Ullah of The Bangladesh Times and Ashiqur Rahman of Samakal were selected as executive members.
