Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan said the research of the teachers is contributing to the overall development of the country. The innovation of new knowledge and technology obtained from research plays an important role in the economic, social and other overall development of the country, which helps to build a country as a developed nation.

He also said teachers have to face challenges such as lack of adequate research funding, lack of necessary infrastructure and facilities for research, administrative workload on teachers, lack of publication in research, etc. And we have to move forward by facing these challenges.

The Project Completion Acknowledgement 2024, Best Research Publication Award 2023 and Research and Extension Department Research Project Award (2024-2025)" program organized by the Department of Research and Extension at the Academic Council Room of CUET on Monday.

The program was presided over by Prof. Dr. Sajal Chandra Banik, Director of the Department of Research and Extension.

Speaking as the chief guest, he also said that teachers enhance their knowledge and skills through research. As a result, they can teach better in the classroom. This will make the difficult thing like studying very attractive to the students. I believe that students will be able to write with more interest. Acquires the ability to solve various problems through research. As a result, it can make students skilled in solving problems.

Through this research and development, our local problems, the problems of the country and the problems of the world are being developed from better to better. Knowledge gained through research helps in policymaking. Teachers' research can help governments and institutions formulate the right policies.

Dean of the Faculty of Urban and Environmental Engineering Prof. Dr. Sudip Kumar Paul, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shamsul Arefin, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Prof. Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan and Lecturer of the Department of Nuclear Engineering Kazi Kamrun Nahar were also present on the occasion.

A total of 39 projects were given under the Department of Research and Extension and 19 of them have been completed. In the end, 4 Best Research Publication Awards were given.
