Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has started exchanging their students with the University of Agder (UiA) of Norway under the "Care Project". They will also exchange faculty members under the same project. The Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills funded NOK 7.9 million for this project.
This 5-year-long project started in January 2022 and will end in December 2026. Under this project, a few joint master’s programs will be conducted by these two universities. A total of 35 students (25 CUET, 10 UiA) will join this program. Already, four students from CUET have gone to Norway to join this program. Besides, UiA offered six full-funded scholarships for the Master’s program to students of CUET. Already, four students had joined the program last August. A few students from UiA will join CUET next year.
Moreover, there will be 20 faculty members (10 CUET, 10 UiA) mobilities under this project between these universities. Next November, two professors from UiA, Van Khang Huynh and Joao Leal, will come to CUET under these projects.
The director of the project, Professor Abu Shadat Muhammad Sayem said to The Daily Messenger, the Norwegian government received 150 project proposals from throughout the world. Among them, 27 proposals were selected, and our "Care Project" is one of them. Without any investment from Bangladesh, our students get a lot of opportunities from this project.
