Marking a historic moment in the country, the grand finale of the first-ever ATN News Presenter Award was held on Monday at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation in the capital.
Babli Yeasmin won the title of the best presenter and received a prize money worth Tk 2 lakh. Uzma Hassan bagged the first runner-up award, with a prize money worth Tk 1 lakh, while Kotha Nahian was the second runner-up, with a prize money worth Tk 50 thousand. All three winners received a crest and a certificate each.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud attended the award ceremony as the chief guest. ATN Bangla and ATN News Chairman Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, and Head of ATN News Probhash Amin were also present at the event.
Initially, 500 contestants registered to participate in the ATN News Presenter Award competition. As many as 100 contestants were selected in the first phase after screening. 30 contestants made it to the second round following the adjudication of judges. After proving themselves, the top 16 presenters passed through the third round, and the top 10 contestants competed in the grand finale.
The ATN News Presenter Award, the first of its kind, was planned by ATN Bangla and ATN News Chairman Dr Mahfuzur Rahman. The award contest was implemented by Nayem Ahmed Julhas, Head of Events at ATN News, under the supervision of ATN News Executive Director Md Mosharrof Hossain. The production head of the contest was Kazi Nazmul Alam Taposh.
The panel of judges for the ATN News Presenter Award included Md. Mahmudur Rahman, Hashim Reza, Kaniz Almas Khan, Syed Ishtiaque Reza, and Mumthina Rithu.
