Renowned composer and music director Sheikh Sadi Khan, along with composer Murad Noor, has embarked on a project to release five original patriotic songs. Sponsored by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), the songs are composed by Murad Noor, while the music direction is handled by Sheikh Sadi Khan.
The first song, featuring singer Sabbir Zaman and written by Golam Morshed, is part of this collection. The recording of the songs commenced in a studio in the capital on November 18. Representatives from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, BSA, and convener-organiser Badiul Alam Khokon attended the recording of the first song.
These songs, crafted by some of the prominent lyricists and performed by talented young singers, are scheduled for release on December 1 at the Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of BSA. The event will be attended by prominent figures from the cultural arena.
Sheikh Sadi Khan expressed his feelings, “Noor calls me guru. I like him too. His interest in creativity and his eagerness to learn impress me. Youth will take our traditional culture forward. Blessings and love to Noor. Sabbir and the rest are also experienced singers. Surely, something good will happen.”
Murad Noor, the organiser of ‘Bijoy Ullas,’ said, “It has been a long-cherished dream of mine to be creatively associated with my music guru Sheikh Sadi Khan. Now that the dream has come true, I express my gratitude to everyone involved in fulfilling it. We are making history by singing patriotic songs, and it is a matter of pride. Pray for us."
Sabbir Zaman said, “Thanks to my friend Murad Noor for selecting me for such a historic project. This song is one of the quintessential patriotic songs of my life. I seek everyone’s prayers.”
