Dhallywood star Pori Moni’s maternal grandfather Shamsul Haque Gazi died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka early Friday (24 November).
He breathed his last around 2:11 am at the Intensive Care Unit of Evercare Hospital in the capital, Producer Chayanika Chowdhury confirmed in a Facebook post on Friday.
Chayanika wrote: “After giving bath to him (Nanubhai) at Gulshan Azad Mosque at 4am, Pori Moni is on her way to village home Shingkhali in Ikri union of Bhandaria upazila in Pirojpur. He will be laid to rest there next to Pori Moni's grandmother.”
"Shamsul Haque Gazi was a well-educated and big-hearted person. He had a capacity of spreading unequivocal love and humanism throughout his life and we will never forget him. Everyone will pray for Pori and her grandfather,” Chayanika also wrote.
Since losing her parents when she was young, Pori Moni grew up at her grandfather’s place.
Later, the actress lived with her grandfather in Dhaka.
