Legendary Nazrul Sangeet singer Ferdous Ara will be honored with a lifetime achievement award at the Star Plus Music Award-2023. Besides, Dithi Anwar will receive the Best Artiste award in the music category, and Dulal Khan, general secretary of Bangladesh Cultural Reporters Association, will be recognised in the field of entertainment journalism.
The award ceremony, organised by Star Plus Communication, is scheduled to take place on December 1 at 5pm at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon in the capital.
Nazmul Khan, the director of Star Plus Communication, informed that the chief advisor of the organisation, former Member of Parliament Jafar Iqbal Siddiki, will be presiding over the programme.
The event will have the freedom fighter and former army chief Lt Gen (retd) M Harun-Ar-Rashid as a chief guest, and legendary pop singer Ferdous Wahid will also be present as a special guest.
The recipients of the award also include filmmaker Dewan Nazrul, Laila Naznin Harun, Javed Ahmed Kislu, Iftekhar Hossain Pintu, band Spandan, Bulbul Tumpa, Sayed Ali Ahsan Liton, Dipti Chowdhury, Anamika Poonam, Selina Osman Shormi, and Sanjida Tonny.
