Being a newcomer of this generation, it is a bit challenging for anyone to charm audiences in both the mediums of music and acting. However, rising singer and actress Nishat Tasneem Toma is accomplishing this task with ease.
Originally from Rangpur, Toma initially ventured into the media through singing. She earned certificates in various categories through her participation in different competitions. Her passion for music deepened during her participation in the musical reality show ‘Sera Kantho.’
In 2018, she primarily worked as a model in advertisements but embarked on her acting journey in 2020. The first tele-drama starring her was SR Majumdar's ‘Tomar Hatti Dhore.’ However, the single-episode tele-drama that garnered significant attention was ‘Prem Amar,’ directed by Megh Heem, where she starred alongside Irfan Sajjad. In this tele-drama, the song 'Prem Amar,' sung by Toma, became very popular.
Noteworthy dramas featuring Toma include ‘Patharkuchi,’ ‘Ekti Biker Jonno,’ ‘Mayurakshi,’ and ‘Love Factor.’ She recently completed a tele-drama titled ‘Love Factor,’ directed by Rakesh Basu, where she not only acted but also performed a song. She also featured in the recently concluded drama serial ‘Ma Baba Bhai Boon,’ directed by Hasan Rezaul.
Toma expressed about her work, “There hasn't been an opportunity to work in movies yet, but there is a strong desire. However, I will give my best if given the chance to portray the central character in a drama. I aspire to act well in roles revolving around love."
Toma is a regular anchor of two shows titled 'Ajker Sakal' and 'Suprabhat Bangladesh' on BTV. Additionally, she often performs country songs on BTV's show 'Swadhin Bangla Betar.'
