A documentary film showcasing the life and valor of Abdur Rashid Pathan, the esteemed commander of the freedom fighters at Kachua police station in Chandpur district, is set to captivate audiences with its premiere titled 'Rono-Kotha. Scheduled to take place at the Narayanganj Shilpakala Academy Hall on Friday, the event promises an insightful journey into the memories of his wartime experiences.
Produced by Rakibul Hasan James, the devoted son of the revered freedom fighter commander Abdur Rashid Pathan, and directed by actor Sowab Monir, 'Rono-Kotha' stands as a testament to the sacrifices made during the liberation struggle.
The premiere is expected to draw the presence of family members of the courageous freedom fighter commander, alongside fellow freedom fighters from Chandpur and Narayanganj, esteemed public figures, poets, writers, and individuals representing diverse political and social spectrums, including the Narayanganj Cultural Alliance.
Rakibul Hasan James, General Secretary of Unmesh Sangsiktan Sangsad and Chairman of Abdur Rashid Pathan Foundation, emphasised that the primary aim of this documentary is to document and preserve the pivotal events of his father's significant role in the liberation war. Furthermore, efforts have begun to preserve the narratives of the gallant freedom fighters from Kachua police station in Chandpur district.
James highlights the importance of unveiling the authentic history of the liberation war to future generations, emphasizing the valor displayed by the brave freedom fighters on the battlefield. Hence, the decision to organize the documentary's premiere during this victorious month signifies the essence of commemorating their sacrifices.
The screening of 'Rono-Kotha' at the Shilpakala Academy Hall will be open to all, serving as an opportunity to cherish and acknowledge the remarkable contributions made by individuals like Abdur Rashid Pathan in shaping the nation's history.
