Continuing our exploration of the rich history and heritage nestled in remote corners of our country, this episode of Ittadi takes us on a captivating journey through the picturesque district of Moulvibazar, renowned as the epicenter of tea cultivation.

The set is meticulously crafted within the sprawling confines of Kurma Tea Garden, nestled in the heart of Kamalganj, Moulvibazar. This historic garden, dating back to 1895, served as the perfect backdrop with its lush greenery, sprawling tea estates adorning the hill slopes, serene lakes, and breathtaking panoramic vistas. The stage itself was nestled amidst the tea shrubs, creating a unique ambiance that seamlessly merged with the natural beauty that surrounded us.

While Ittadi typically dazzles on an illuminated stage during the night, the sheer splendor of this locale demanded a different approach. Consequently, the program chose to capture the essence of this enchanting place during the serene transition from day to dusk, allowing the fading light to showcase the ethereal charm of Moulvibazar in its most natural form.

On the 15th of December, the entire district of Moulvibazar pulsated with an air of festivity, all in honor of the grand celebration of Ittadi. The surroundings buzzed with life as a bustling fair enveloped the vicinity of the event. Shopkeepers busily set up their stalls, showcasing an array of diverse products, creating a vibrant tapestry of offerings.

From a distance, the scene resembled a sea of humanity amidst the verdant tea gardens. Although hosted in Kamalganj, the allure of Ittadi drew visitors from various upazilas spanning distances of 50 to 100 kilometers. Their presence contributed to the lively atmosphere, adding to the mosaic of cultures and experiences converging within this captivating setting.

With the seamless collaboration of the local administration and the enthusiastic support of the community, the esteemed guests commenced their arrival at the venue from 3 pm, greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In a remarkably short span, the venue brimmed with attendees, filling every nook and corner. Beyond the invited guests, numerous spectators gracefully occupied vantage points on surrounding hills, roadsides, and along the banks of the nearby lake, all in an orderly fashion, eagerly partaking in the unfolding festivities.

The program featured a mesmerizing performance by Salim Chowdhury, a beloved native of Moulvibazar, and Tasiba, hailing from Sylhet, who delivered an enchanting rendition of love songs in the regional dialect. Notably, Tasiba embarked on his television journey through this very episode of Ittadi. The heartwarming song, penned by Ramacharan and composed by Akash Mahmud, echoed the soulful essence of the region, captivating the audience with its emotive resonance.

Adding to the spectacle, over 100 local dancers from Moulvibazar graced the stage, moving in graceful harmony to a composition celebrating the essence of Moulvibazar, composed by Mehdi and set to the tune of Hanif Sanket. The compelling choreography by Khwaja Salahuddin Jhantu beautifully complemented the evocative vocals of Pulak, Tanjina Ruma, Momin Biswas, and Noshin Tabassum Naran, creating a captivating visual and auditory feast that resonated with the essence and spirit of Moulvibazar.

During the audience interaction segment, four fortunate viewers were selected from the engaged crowd through an engaging question-and-answer session held around the charming venue of Moulvibazar. These participants, alongside local Bengali and Manipuri dancers and musicians, added an enriching and diverse flavor to the second phase of the program, infusing it with the vibrant cultural essence of the region.

The episode encompassed an insightful report shedding light on Moulvibazar, offering a comprehensive view of the district's rich heritage and cultural tapestry. Additionally, a public awareness segment highlighted the innovation of exceptional polythene huts, providing valuable insights into sustainable and innovative living solutions.

A poignant segment unfolded, narrating a heartwarming dream story of an exemplary mother, resonating deeply with the audience, evoking emotions and admiration. Shifting focus internationally, the foreign report segment transported viewers to the iconic 'N Seoul Tower' situated in Seoul, the bustling capital of South Korea, unveiling its cultural significance and allure.

True to its format, the show also featured the delightful banter of Nani Nati, offering lighthearted commentary on a range of contemporary topics, adding a touch of humor and relatability to the Moulvibazar stage. Additionally, a correspondent's report showcased the commendable efforts and endeavors of Bikul Chakraborty from Srimangal, renowned for his dedication to collecting documentary films and memorabilia related to the Liberation War, thus preserving an integral part of the nation's history.

In addition to the usual content, this particular episode of Ittadi showcased several gripping and incisive dramas centered around contemporary events. Each drama delved deep into diverse topics, presenting thought-provoking narratives that resonated with the audience.

The array of plays covered a spectrum of societal issues, shedding light on poignant subjects. Some highlighted the struggles and resilience of individuals regarded as the "people of pure soil," while others poignantly depicted the harsh realities faced by the lower class, whose poverty becomes glaringly evident in the rising prices of everyday commodities.

There were compelling portrayals of guardians worried about ensuring food security, a reflection on the complexities within our societal structures. Additionally, a drama called "Star Market" explored the repercussions of elevating the seemingly insignificant to unwarranted heights, while another focused on the lamentable state of our cultural heritage, urging for its preservation.

Themes touching upon domestic unrest, the impact of unnecessary dialogue, and the transformative power of education were also sensitively addressed. Each play served as a poignant mirror to society, inviting introspection and contemplation on these pertinent issues, leaving a lasting impression on the viewers with their stark realism and emotional depth.

Notable artists at this year's Ittadi are Solaiman Khoka, Ziaul Hasan Kislu, Abdullah Rana, Subhashish Bhowmik, Masum Bashar, Shafiq Khan Dilu, Mukit Zakaria, Zillur Rahman, Shabnam Parveen, Momena Chowdhury, Zahid Shikder, Nipu, Kamal Bayezid, Amin Azad, Bilu Barua, Iqbal Hossain, Shahed Ali, Tariq Swapan, Jamil Hossain, Sujat Shimul, Motiur Rahman, Manjur Alam, Sadia Tanzin, Subarna Mazumder, Belal Ahmed Murad, Nazrul Islam, Sabrina Nisa, Anwarul Alam Sajal, Debashish Mithu and many others. As usual, this time too Mukimul Anwar Mukim, the regular art director of Ettadi, was in the art direction and stage planning of Ittadi. As usual, Rana Sarkar and Mohammad Mamun were the assistants of the director.
