The one-and-a-half-hour-long special project ‘Pothe Holo Deri,’ written and directed by Zakaria Soukhin, was released on CMV's YouTube channel on December 24. Since its release, it has been trending on YouTube for the past two days, amassing over 50 million views. Equally significant is the overwhelmingly positive response from both audiences and critics.
The drama's YouTube comment section and the Facebook posts of critics over the past two days indicate that ‘Pothe Holo Deri’ is poised to be recognised as the best work of the year. Notably, Tanjim Saiara Totini, a rising young actress, stars opposite Ziaul Faruq Apurba in the drama, with Manoj Pramanik and Sallha Khanam Nadia portraying pivotal roles.
After watching ‘Pothe Holo Deri’, viewer Sohail Rana remarked, "A drama should be like this, capturing the essence of village life, blending anger, romance, mischief, reality, and culminating in love. In a word, the drama is extraordinary.”
Another viewer, Faisal, commented, “Most dramas nowadays are centred on urban life. This drama is refreshingly different, skillfully portraying rural life."
It's worth noting that the entire shooting of this special drama took place in the Chattogram and Cox's Bazar regions. Consequently, in addition to its storyline, the entire drama can be considered a tribute to the beauty of 'Beautiful Bangladesh'.
