Actor Arifin Shuvoo and producer Liton Haider have been allotted plots by Rajuk (Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha). The Purbachal New Town Project Officer sent a letter to both of them, confirming the plot allotment on December 31.
According to Rajuk sources, during the 18th board meeting of Rajuk on November 27, it was decided to allot a plot to actor Arifin Shuvoo and producer Liton Haider. Shuvoo has been allotted a plot of 10 kathas, and producer Liton Haider has been allotted a plot of three kathas from Rajuk's Purbachal New Town project under the reserved quota.
Earlier, producer Liton Haider had applied for a plot at the Ministry of Public Works. Based on that application, the ministry requested Rajuk to allocate plots from the reserved quota of the government.
In this regard, Rajuk Chairman Md Anisur Rahman Miah said that according to the government's decision, if there is an application through proper channels for the reserved quota, it will be discussed in the board meeting of Rajuk. If the board's decision is positive, then it is approved.
He also mentioned that many applications are received for plot allotment. Plots are given from the Purbachal New Town Project when the government decides because there is no other place to allocate plots except Purbachal.
Shuvoo recently portrayed the role of Mujib in the biopic titled 'Mujib: The Making of a Nation,' based on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Shuvoo took only 1 taka for playing the title role of Bangabandhu in the film.
‘Mujib’ is the biggest budget movie in the history of Bangladeshi cinema, a joint production of Bangladesh and India. The film is directed by famous Bollywood filmmaker Shyam Benegal.
In June 2021, on his official Facebook page, Shuvoo posted a picture of a cheque for Tk 1 and captioned it, “The condition is one: I will take the honorarium of 1 taka. Money may bring some worldly happiness, but soul satisfaction will not come.”
He also informed that he took a symbolic fee of 1 taka for acting in this film. Since he does not work for free, he charged Tk 1.
On the other hand, Liton Haider is the producer of five more movies under production, including 'Chiranjib Mujib,' released on December 31, 2021.
Efforts were made to contact Shuvoo regarding the 10-katha plot in Purbachal, but he was not available.
