Apu Biswas, the popular Dhallywood Queen of Bangladeshi films, spent the last year in acting and film production. The new year started with an entirely different venture for her. Besides being an actress and producer, she is now embarking on a new journey as an entrepreneur.
According to her plan, the business ventures—Signature by AB Parlour and Boutique, and AB Cafe and Restaurant—commenced on January 8, situated on the second floor of house number 17 in Aftab Nagar (Main Road) of the capital. On the very first day, singer Kazi Soma availed services from Apu’s parlour, and many others followed suit. Apu expressed satisfaction with the first day's earnings.
Apu said, “First of all, I am a heroine to the people of Bangladesh, a beloved actress among Bengali-speaking audiences. However, I always wanted to establish a distinct identity beyond that. Currently, I am occupied with acting and film production, but this marks the beginning of a new phase in my life, and I am excited to embrace it. Importantly, I believe my son will take pride in this new identity. As a businesswoman, I can also contribute more to the state by paying taxes.”
When asked if Shakib Khan is aware of this matter, Apu responded, “Shakib is always supportive of positive endeavours.”
Apu mentioned that the official inauguration of her parlour-boutique and cafe-restaurant will take place with a colourful ceremony on January 12. She pointed out that Aftab Nagar lacks this type of parlour or a parlour with a coffee shop. She hopes to achieve her goals quickly if her business ventures receive a positive response from everyone.
Last year, Apu produced the government-grant movie ‘Lal Sharee,’ which was released in various cinemas. However, this year she plans to equally dedicate her efforts and time to both business and acting.
