‘Ityadi’, the longest-running magazine show in Bangladesh, continues to captivate audiences with its satirical, comedic, yet timely and relevant content, thanks to the vision of renowned television host Hanif Sanket.
In a unique fusion of genres, ‘Ityadi’ has combined folk and contemporary music for its upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr special. The show has brought together Protic Hasan and Pritom Hasan, the two sons of the late legendary musician Khalid Hasan Milu, to perform a song penned by Kabir Bakul and composed by Pritom Hasan.
The song has been adapted into two distinct versions: a contemporary rendition and a folk-inspired interpretation, the latter drawing inspiration from several songs their father performed on ‘Ityadi's platform.
Accompanying the brothers are eight young beatboxers, adding a modern twist to the performance. The music video for the song was filmed at the Mirpur Indoor Stadium on March 2.
Khalid Hasan Milu, a shining star in the Bengali music world, left an indelible mark with his timeless compositions and versatile artistry. Even after his passing, his songs performed on ‘Ityadi’ continue to be widely celebrated.
Notably, ‘Ityadi’ holds a special place in the hearts of Protic and Pritom Hasan, as it was the platform where their father made his final performance and where they were first noticed as singers.
Hanif Sanket, the visionary behind ‘Ityadi’, has conceptualized, directed, and presented this year's Eid-special segment, marking the show's 34th year on the air. Fagun Audio Vision has produced the programme.
As is tradition, this Eid's special ‘Ityadi’ will be aired on BTV and BTV World the day after Eid-ul-Fitr, as part of the Eid-special programme lineup, delighting audiences with its unique blend of entertainment and cultural heritage.
