Popular actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila from Bangladesh is joining forces with renowned actor Jitu Kamal in the upcoming Bengali film ‘Aranyer Prachin Probad’. Directed by Dulal Dey, the film is slated for release in July.
According to reports from the Indian media outlet Anandabazar Online, the film's story revolves around the exploits of detective Aranya Chatterjee, played by Jeetu Kamal. This marks the first time Mithila will be paired opposite Jeetu on screen.
Mithila will portray the role of a nurse in the movie. Director Dulal Dey explained his decision to cast her, saying, “I could not find this character in anyone else except Mithila. So, I did not propose the role to anyone else.”
Commenting on his acting experience, Jeetu Kamal told, “If I hadn't entered the entertainment world, I would have pursued my dreams of becoming a cricketer or a healthy politician. Being an actor has its advantages. Through acting, I can somewhat fulfill the dreams that remain unfulfilled.”
Jeetu expressed excitement about the unique blend of elements in his character, combining a detective, sportsperson, and a connection to medical science. Despite Dulal being a new director, Jeetu agreed to work on the film because of this intriguing concept.
The film also features actors like Silajit Majumder, Suhotra Mukherjee, Alok Sanyal, Ananya Banerjee, and Loknath Dey, among others.
