Popular actress Jaya Ahsan, celebrated in both Bangladesh and West Bengal, marked her birthday by releasing a 16-second teaser for her upcoming film ‘OCD’ on Monday. The teaser, shared on Jaya's Facebook wall, offers a glimpse into the psychological drama directed by Indian filmmaker Soukarya Ghosal.
In ‘OCD,’ Jaya portrays Shweta, a psychiatrist potentially struggling with mental health issues herself. The film explores the conflict of whether Shweta is suffering from OCD, with the story unfolding through her character's journey.
Director Ghosal revealed that he wrote the script with Jaya in mind, believing she was the perfect fit for the role. He expressed admiration for her performance, saying, “I'm truly amazed by Jaya's acting. It feels like I made the right choice in casting her.”
Jaya, equally enthusiastic about the project, shared her excitement about the role during a press conference. She mentioned, “When the director approached me with this proposal, I immediately accepted. To be honest, I've acted wholeheartedly in this film. I'm satisfied and enjoyed it thoroughly.”
The film has already been screened at several film festivals, garnering praise. While the release date is yet to be announced, the teaser's caption, written by Jaya, reads: “Can the blemishes of the moon be cleaned? What about the blemishes of life? Of society? OCD is coming with answers... This time, it will remove the mess with all its might!”
This marks Jaya's second collaboration with director Soukarya Ghosal, following their previous work together in the film ‘Bhootpori.’
