Mondera Chakroborty, the rising star of Bangladeshi cinema, has received her first international recognition for her debut film 'Kajol Rekha'. The actress was honoured with the Best Actress award in the Popular Category at the Dhallywood Awards ceremony held in the United States (US).
'Kajol Rekha', directed by Gias Uddin Selim, was released during the last Eid-ul-Fitr. Mondera played the titular role in the film, which garnered significant praise for her performance.
Expressing her gratitude from America, Mondera said, “I've received immense appreciation from the audience for my role in 'Kajol Rekha'. This award is special as it's my first recognition for this film. I dedicate this award to my viewers, as their love has made me who I am today.”
The actress is currently in the United States, participating in three events, including the Dhallywood Awards. She plans to return to Bangladesh before her birthday in August.
Mondera also revealed that she has completed work on her next film ‘Neelchakra’, opposite Arifin Shuvoo. She expressed optimism about this project, describing her role as challenging and different.
Upon her return to Bangladesh, Mondera hinted at more exciting news, including a potential international film project. She promised to share details once everything is finalised.
The actress's success with 'Kajol Rekha' and her recent award have solidified her position in the Bangladeshi film industry, with fans eagerly anticipating her upcoming projects.
