After a long hiatus, a drama serial starring popular actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba returns to television.
'Neel Ghurni' (Blue Whirl), completed filming five years ago, will premiere on RTV.
RTV announced in a press release that 'Neel Ghurni' will air every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 10 PM.
Written by Shafiqur Rahman Shantanu and directed by Syed Shakil, the drama features Apurba in a dual role opposite actress Zakia Bari Mamo. The cast also includes Sazu Khadem, Arfan Ahmed, Anny Khan, Emily Haque, Faruk Ahmed, Rashed Mamun Apu, among others.
The plot revolves around Badal, an underground crime boss who recently killed his partner Ayan for alleged betrayal. As Ayan's associates and the police hunt for Badal, rumours suggest he is hiding in Cox's Bazar. Coincidentally, newlyweds Anik and Sparshi arrive there for their honeymoon. Anik's striking resemblance to Badal leads to his mistaken abduction by Badal's rival, Rais, setting off a chain of events.
Regarding his involvement in ‘Neel Ghurni’, Apurba said, “I was drawn to this serial by its compelling storyline. Since then, I have focused on OTT and single-episode dramas. Shakil bhai is an exceptionally talented creator who has beautifully realised this story.”
Director Syed Shakil praised the cast's dedication, saying, “Apurba, Mamo, and the entire cast were meticulous in portraying their characters.”
Shakil expressed optimism about the drama's reception among viewers.
