Actress Mondera Chakroborty has already received two awards from the United States for her debut film performance. She starred in the titular role of ‘Kajolrekha,’ directed by Giasuddin Selim, which has garnered both audience appreciation and critical acclaim. The film has also been screened internationally, including in the United States (US).
Reflecting on the experience, Mondera said, “After visiting the US, I have heard praise for 'Kajolrekha' from many who have seen it in this country. Hearing such positive feedback has filled my heart. To be honest, I gave up many other opportunities for this film and waited patiently. It has paid off.”
Mondera has now completed work on a new film titled ‘Neel Chakra,’ directed by Mithu Khan and co-starring Arifin Shuvoo. Although initially scheduled for a September release, the film's premiere has been postponed due to the current situation in the country.
Speaking about ‘Neel Chakra,’ Mondera expressed her excitement, “The story of 'Neel Chakra' will keep the audience engaged in the theatre. It's a beautiful narrative where I portray a dancer. My character is shown as very beautiful and elegant. Since I am a dancer myself, it made the role somewhat easier to perform. The story is contemporary and relates to social media, so I believe everyone will enjoy it.”
She added, “To be honest, I'm eagerly waiting for the release of 'Neel Chakra.' I'm also praying that the flood situation in Bangladesh improves quickly so that normal life can resume.”
