Iconic '90s actress Shabnur, one of Dhallywood's most beloved stars, celebrates her 46th birthday today. Known for her immense talent and versatility, she remains an inspiration to many of today's actresses.
In an emotional interview with a local media outlet, Shabnur opened up about her life's highs and lows, career challenges, and future aspirations. She also requested everyone's blessings for herself and her son, Aijan, on her special day.
Reflecting on her journey, Shabnur said, "In my long career spanning over a decade and a half, I have faced obstacles and scandals. I don't think any other artistes have faced such perils like me."
She recalled being falsely linked with several co-stars, including Salman Shah, Riaz, and Ferdous, as well as a foreign national during her debut film "Chandni Rate". The actress also endured accusations surrounding Salman Shah's tragic death, bans from FDC associations, and persistent family struggles.
Shabnur admitted her divorce in 2020 from Anik Mahmud was one of her most painful life events. "Anyone else in my position might have gone mad, turned to drugs, or even taken their own life. But I overcame all the negativity with mental strength and rebuilt my life with positivity, which is why happiness couldn't betray me," she said.
She further expressed no desire to remarry, explaining, "Not getting along with your husband after marriage is a terrible experience for any woman. I want to focus entirely on raising my son, Aijan, to be a good human being."
On the subject of acting, Shabnur shared her excitement about a project called "Rongona" she began last year, which remains unfinished. However, she remains optimistic about the industry's future. "The state of cinema is improving once again. If everyone works sincerely and in unity, the film business will recover and thrive," she added.
Concluding with a heartfelt message, Shabnur said, "On my birthday today, I ask for blessings for both me and my son Aijan. I hope I can raise him to be a good human being, and that both of us can live truly happy lives and spend our remaining days in great joy."
