Actress Zerin Kashfi Ruma received Television Reporters Association of Bangladesh (TRAB) Awards 2025 in Theatre category on February 8 at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon. She received the Best Actress Award for acting in the play titled Shesh Sanglap, a renowned theatre production of Shomoy Sangskritik Goshthee while Md Kamruzzaman Millat from Theatre Art Unit also received the Best Actor Award on stage.
The ceremony also handed over the Lifetime Achievement Awards to Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Ujjal, Misha Sawdagar and actress Anwara Begum in the film.
Theatre artiste Zerin Kashfi Ruma performed more than 500 shows for Dhaka-based Shomoy Sangskritik Goshtee in 20 theatre productions since mid-90s including Asman Tara Sari, BabaTartuf, Bajimaat, Bhager Manush, Jojati and Shesh Sanglap.
"As a theatre actress, I am happy to receive the award. I express gratitude to the organizers, especially the chief advisor of TRAB Badal Ahmed and its president Kader Mansur who plan to include Theatre as a category for honour,'' Zerin Kashfi Ruma said, adding that the award will inspire her for forthcoming solo theatre production “My Name Is Gauhar Jaan” which depicts the legendary classical performer of South Asia Gauhar Jaan on stage.
Earlier, this talented actress who performed in home and abroad received prestigious awards including the SATV Best Actress Award, Koler Gaan Multimedia Best Actress Award, Dhallywood Film and Music Best Actress Award from New York, USA .
