Musfiq R. Farhan has come to the discussion stage with an impeccable performance. He is seen in story-based dramas throughout the years. Farhan, who is immersed in an indomitable effort to present himself in all the exceptional roles, is sometimes playing the role of a sweeper, sometimes a Laguna driver, sometimes a postman, sometimes a disabled youth, and by doing these characters, he got huge love of the audience.
Recently, this actor, who is at the peak of discussion on the small screen for the dramas 'Akkhep', 'Thada', and 'Neel Oporajita'. In an exclusive interview with Nisha Mahmuda of 'The Daily Messenger', he shared insights about his work and life. Here are some excerpts from the interview:
The Daily Messenger (TDM): How many dramas have you worked on so far?
Farhan: I can't tell the exact number. But approximately more than 100.
TDM: Which of these is your personal favorite drama or character?
Farhan: I like my every work and character. Each work has different dedication, difficulty, and pleasure. Like last Eid when I did 'Hangor,' it was a symbol of dedication and hard work. This time I did 'Akkhep' which is also a kind of dedication, and suffering. When I was doing 'Deyaler Opare Tumi ', it was another kind of dedication. It is also a favorite work of mine. I love my every work. It is not possible to keep one aside and give priority to the other. It is very difficult for me to choose one among all.
TDM: You had to go through a lot of changes to play diverse roles, have you faced any problems in creating yourself in different characters?
Farhan: I never have to go through any trouble because I work less. That's why, I get more time for preparing myself for different characters. During that time I make myself according to the script and findings, and observing the character from real life. If I can't find it in real life, then I check it from a film. I think if any story or character is observed in detail then a lot becomes clear, and any difficult character becomes easy.
TDM: Do you want to come to OTT or big screen?
Farhan: I practice OTT or film within the drama. I try to stay in a slightly cinematic tone, which I like. Of course, I have a desire to work there. If I agree with the story, script, and character, then I will definitely work.
TDM: What kind of character do you want to work on?
Farhan: The priority for me is the story. If the story is interesting then I am ready to play any role required by the story.
TDM: What is the current preoccupation with?
Farhan: At the moment, I am busy with some works which will be released in Eid al-Adha. Eid works have already started but I am starting work a little late. So the involvement with those works has increased.
TDM: Any comments on the behavior or attitude of the people in the industry towards Farhan at the beginning of acting and Farhan at this time?
Farhan: One thing is too much in the media. Always, there is a preservation for receiving newcomers. It's not that only I have faced it, almost all the freshers have faced these issues.
In the beginning, I received harsh treatment from many people. But not only harsh treatment, I experienced love also. The situation has changed a lot over the time. At the beginning, no one given me respect, love, or priority, but I deserve this as an artist. I had to prove myself through my work. I achieved love and respect through the work.
TDM: Any advice for those new to Showbiz?
Farhan: As an artist when I was new I wanted my seniors to guide me, advise me, and give me feedback. But I didn't get it. For newbies, I would like to say that if your intentions are honest, opportunities will come again and again in your life. If the effort is aimed at a goal then opportunity will come. One piece of advice to today's generation, remember our works are archived. So, whatever work is done today, 20 years from now or even the next generation will be able to see it. Therefore, I think that when an offer comes, you should know, understand and then work instead of being greedy. Most of this generation is preoccupied with looks but the focus should be on performance.
Hence, I would say think more, do research and know more about the character. Only then stand in front of the camera.
