I have been a homebody since childhood : Shahtaj

Shahtaj Monira Hashem is a model, actress, and singer who is very popular among the younger generation for her cute and cool looks. Recently, she celebrated her birthday. In an exclusive interview with Nisha Mahmuda of The Daily Messenger, she shared insights about her birthday and recent projects. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

The Daily Messenger (TDM): How was your first birthday after marriage?

Shahtaj: In a word, it was good.

TDM: What did you do on your birthday?

Shahtaj: Nothing in particular, but my friends and family members came to wish me.

TDM: Besides acting and modeling, you also sing. Are you currently involved in any music projects?

Shahtaj: I have a song ready for release soon. However, the date is not fixed yet. But every time I plan for a release, I unexpectedly get busy with something else. But this time, I am determined to release it.

TDM: Despite being so popular, you work less. Can you tell us why?

Shahtaj: Actually, I have always worked very little since the beginning of my career. I love being myself. I receive offers regularly for various projects, but I am always occupied with my personal work, content creation, and currently, I am busy traveling to different countries.

TDM: You had planned to tour Japan for your honeymoon. Have you been there?

Shahtaj: No, I am traveling to other countries. Since Japan is my favorite place, I want to go there when I have more time, at least for a month-long tour.

TDM: We know that you had some problems with Bangla pronunciation. How much has it improved now?

Shahtaj: Actually, I have been a homebody since childhood. I didn't receive formal schooling. I used to stay at home all day and watch cartoons. I acquired this (English) accent from watching cartoons, which caused some difficulties in Bangla pronunciation. But now it is fixed.

TDM: What are you currently busy with?

Shahtaj: At the moment, I am occupied with things other than drama.
