Proud and excited, Farida Akhtar Bobita, one of the most prominent actors in the Bangladeshi film industry, expressed her best wishes to Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan and his latest film 'Priyotoma' upon learning about its grand success.
The internationally acclaimed veteran Bangladeshi actress, who currently resides in Canada, came to know about Shakib Khan's 'Priyotoma' through her co-artists in Bangladesh.
Bobita's last collaboration with Shakib Khan was in the film titled 'Khodar Pore Ma,' directed by Shahin-Sumon, where she played the role of his mother.
She also reminisced about her own film titled 'Priyotoma,' released 50 years ago, where she acted opposite the legendary actor Nayak Raj Razzak under the direction of Ashok Ghosh. The movie had captivated audiences across whole Bangladesh during that time.
However, times have changed, along with the storyline of the movie. Razzak and Bobita have been replaced by superstar Shakib Khan and Kolkata's Idhika Paul.
The story of the new 'Priyotoma,' starring Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul, is written by the late Faruk Hossain, while the movie was produced by Arshad Adnan and directed by Himel Ashraf Raj.
In this era of globalisation, Shakib Khan's 'Priyotoma' continues to win the hearts of Bengali-speaking audiences worldwide, quickly becoming a blockbuster.
Bobita expressed, "It's a bit nostalgic and emotional to remember my film 'Priyotoma.' I can vividly recall the days we left behind. Khalilur Rahman, Anisur Rahman, Maya Hazarika, and many others were my co-artists in this film. Upon hearing about the success of Shakib's 'Priyotoma,' I feel immensely proud as a well-wisher of Dhallywood movies and as an artiste."
"So far, I have learned that the audience eagerly awaits the opportunity to watch 'Priyotoma' with great interest, both at home and abroad. This is great news for the film industry as our movie expands into the international market. Undoubtedly, it fills me with joy. Shakib's acting skills have greatly improved, and he holds me in high regard. I am aware of his growth as an actor. I always wish him the best.
