The Russian House in Dhaka, in collaboration with the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh, screened a documentary film titled 'Battle for Africa' by the RussiaToday TV channel at the Russian Embassy in the capital on Saturday (16 July).
The Minister-Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh, Ekaterina Semenova, addressed the audience with a welcoming remark. She shared her assessments of the causes of the current crisis in Ukraine and spoke about Moscow’s approaches to the settlement of the conflict, according to a press release.
Pavel Dvoychenkov, the Director of the Russian House, emphasised in his speech the historically friendly nature of relations between the USSR and Africa, which are currently supported by Russia. According to him, the anti-colonial policy of the Soviet Union and Russia's multi-vector diplomacy became the basis for building strong ties with the countries of the continent, including at the humanitarian level.
The film aroused keen interest from various people, including local cultural personalities, students from various universities, teacher representatives, organisation leaders, the academic community, think tanks, and several Bangladeshi media representatives.
