Arfan Anik is one of the young performers of this time. This young actor is Experiencing a busy time with dramas, telefilms, and advertisements. After a long hiatus from showbiz, he has started acting again. In an exclusive interview with ‘Nisha Mahmuda’ of ‘The Daily Messenger’, he shares insights into his recent endeavors and work experiences. Here are some excerpts from the interview:
You have been out of the media for a long time, why?
That’s true but I had to go through some personal problems and family issues. I have also been abroad for a good period of time. All in all, it didn’t possible to work in media at that time. Besides that, Corona pandemic was also a notable reason.
How long have you been away from the media?
I was out of the media for about a year and a half. After that, the world was stopped for two more years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So ultimately, I was out of media for three and a half years. I have had some tough times after making a comeback though.
What kind of role are you doing after coming back?
I did some projects as a second lead and parallel. Since 15 Nov 2022, I have stopped to do those kinds of roles. I did a few projects in the last 6 months. Also, I am very selective about new projects nowadays.
How have you prepared yourself to return to the media?
I struggled a lot when I started my career during 2014-15. Similarly, I had to go through the same suffering this time. I have been trying to do method acting since Corona pandemic. As I used to act normally, now I am doing method acting. I am also trying to improve my pronunciation, speech style, and expression. I was already prepared for acting, now I am polishing myself.
What are you currently busy with?
I am doing a drama serial now titled ‘Probasi Porivar’. And we have already completed 40 episodes of this. I am supposed to do some new single-episode tele-dramas but nothing final yet. I have been engaged in 3 new single-episode dramas; shooting will start next month. I will also work on a new advertisement in the upcoming month. I will also do some work for YouTube. I have done a lot of work in the last 4 months, waiting to be published on Youtube.
Are you comfortable with singles or series?
As an actor, I am as comfortable doing single-episode tele-drama as I am comfortable in the drama serial. I like to perform in one or two drama serials, not more than that. It seems to me that drama serials are more like acting schools where we can practice acting. On the other hand, single-episode tele-drama is very challenging for us to shoot in Bangladesh because it has the hurry to finish within 2 or 3 days. But in drama serials, we get a little bit more time to finish.
