The premiere show of 'Aam Kathaler Chhuti', the directorial debut of Mohammad Nuruzzaman, is going to be held in the country before its theatrical release.

Following screenings at multiple international festivals around the world, the movie will be screened in Dhaka at the National Art Plaza Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) at 7 pm on Sunday.

Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy, the mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation, will inaugurate the event, with State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid as the chief guest. BSA Director-General Liaquat Ali Lucky and noted filmmaker Morshedul Islam will also be present as special guests.

The story of this children's genre movie revolves around the experiences of an 8-year-old boy living in the city, who goes on a summer vacation to the village and enjoys the little things in his surroundings while making new friends. It will also be a nostalgic trip down memory lane for people who grew up in the 80s and late 90s.

The movie features Leon, Zubair, Arif, Halima, and Tanzil in pivotal roles. Juboraj Shamim, the director of the film 'Adim', assisted in the making of this film, which is slated to hit theaters on August 18.

'Aam Kathaler Chhuti' won the Special Jury Award at the Cheboksary International Film Festival held in Russia from May 26 to June 01.

The film also had its international premiere at the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from November 26 to December 3, with another screening in the Asian Perspective section last year. The festival committee and the audience there also appreciated the film.

Besides, the movie was officially selected at the UBA International Film Festival in Argentina and the Barcelona Indie Filmmakers Fest 2023 in Spain.
