The government-funded movie ‘1971: Sei Shob Din’, based on the story of the Liberation War, has released across the country on Friday.
As part of this, a delegation of eight members including director Hridi Haq, actor Ferdous Ahmed, actress Tareen Jahan, and Lucky Enam met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban on Thursday (August 17).
Actor Ferdous told the media after coming out from Ganabhaban, “On behalf of ‘1971: Se Sab Din’ team, we met the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and handed over the poster of the movie to her. She watched the trailer of the movie. After watching the trailer, she praised it a lot. She also expressed her keenness to watch the movie. We gave her the movie on a pen drive. Usually, many good films that are government-funded do not reach the Prime Minister. She also informed me to take the initiative to bring good films to her from now on.”
He further said, “Our Prime Minister is a film-friendly person. She watches a lot of movies. She is used to watching movies while sitting on the plane. If there is a good movie, we will take the initiative to watch her.”
Apart from directing, Hridi Haq herself features in "1971 Shei Shob Din", alongside a talented ensemble cast comprising Mamunur Rashid, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Munmun Ahmed, Shilpi Sharkar Apu, Ferdous, Tareen, Litu Anam, Saju Khadem, Sanjida Preeti, and many more. Notably, Litu Anam makes a remarkable comeback to cinema with this film, after a hiatus of 15 years.
