Bangladesh-born US filmmaker Asif Akbar-directed film ‘MR-9: Do or Die’ is all set to be released today worldwide. A press conference was organized in the capital on Tuesday when Director Asif Akbar, Screenwriter Nazim ud Daula, Producer Abdul Aziz, Actor-Producer Nico Foster, and many others were present.
Abdul Aziz, the owner of Jazz Multimedia, said at the event, “The English version of the movie has got censor board clearance. It will be screened from August 25 in all cineplexes across the country. If the Bengali dubbed portion gets censored by Thursday, it will also run on single screens this week. Otherwise, it will be screened from next week.”
About his pivotal role in the movie, ABM Sumon said, “I am over the moon right now. I am also feeling more excited because Hollywood is involved with this movie, wherein I have played a lead role. However, I have tried to portray myself as Masud Rana.”
Asif Akbar, director of the film, said, “This will be screened only in theaters across the world for six months. After that, it will be released on the OTT platform.”
Waliullah Sajib, president of the international film distribution company ‘Swapna Scarecrow’, said, “Our movie will be screened simultaneously in more than 150 theaters in America and Canada. This incredible moment is now a reality.”
The movie titled ‘MR-9: Do or Die’ has been made based on the late eminent writer and author of the popular spy-thriller series Qazi Anwar Husain’s novel ‘Dhongsho Pahar’. The plot of the movie revolves around Agent MR-9, a skillful and seasoned spy with a complicated past who was chosen to join an elite group of worldwide agents. They must work together to prevent a terror attack on Las Vegas organized by tech villain Roman Ross (Frank Grillo).
Alongside ABM Sumon, this movie also features Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Anisur Rahman Milon, Jessia Islam, and Alisha, among others.
The international cast of this movie includes Frank Grillo, Bollywood actress Sakshi Pradhan, Hollywood actor Nico Foster, Bollywood actor Omi Vaidya, Hollywood actor Oleg Prudius, American model-actress Jackie Siegel and others.
‘MR-9: Do or Die’ is jointly produced by Bangladesh (Jaaz Multimedia) and USA (Silver Nine).
