Acclaimed director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and celebrated actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha, a renowned celebrity couple, are set to share the screen for the first time in the film ‘Something Like an Autobiography,’ a part of the anthology film series ‘Ministry of Love.’ The couple also collaborated on the screenplay for the web-film.

Farooki, known for his directorial prowess, has also helmed two other web-films for ‘Ministry of Love,’ namely ‘Last Defenders of Monogamy’ and ‘Something Like an Autobiography.’ The exciting news was shared by the director on his Facebook page, revealing that ‘Autobiography’ has been selected for the main competition section of the 28th Busan International Film Festival. The film is scheduled to have its world premiere at the festival in October.

‘Something Like an Autobiography’ masterfully blurs the lines between reality and fiction, with Farooki and Tisha portraying characters that echo their real-life partnership.

The Kim Jiseok competition category at the festival will see ‘Autobiography’ competing alongside works by accomplished Asian filmmakers like Brillante Mendoza from the Philippines, Prasanna Vithanaga from Sri Lanka, and Yosep Anggi Noen from Indonesia.

Farooki shared his feelings about stepping in front of the camera, saying, “Acting is a vulnerable job, especially when it involves elements from your personal life. However, once shooting started, it felt natural, as if the scenes flowed effortlessly.”

Acknowledging Tisha's acting prowess, Farooki expressed his gratitude for her guidance and support. He mentioned, “Tisha's talent and her collaborative approach made the acting process smoother for me. Having a skilled co-star elevates your performance, and she truly helped accentuate my scenes.”

Tisha, returning to work after motherhood, expressed her appreciation for Farooki's encouragement. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work on such an emotionally resonant project.

Reflecting on their collaboration, Tisha lauded Farooki's skills as both a director and now an actor.

“With 'Something Like an Autobiography,' audiences will witness his multifaceted talents,” she remarked with a smile, playfully joking about the prospect of other directors offering Farooki acting roles.

As anticipation builds for the film's premiere, fans eagerly await the on-screen chemistry between this dynamic duo. The film promises to showcase Farooki's versatility and Tisha's exceptional acting, enriching the cinematic landscape with their combined talents.
