Veteran singer Nakib Khan, widely known as a member of the Bangladeshi progressive rock band Renaissance, shared the stage with the popular Bangladeshi band Souls in a live concert in Australia.
The concert, organised by Iconic Trade Australia, took place at Melbourne's Williamstown Hall on September 16 as part of Souls' ongoing tour in Australia to celebrate the band's golden jubilee.
Nakib Khan mesmerised the audience with classic hits such as 'Mukhorito Jibone,' 'Tore Putuler Moto Kore,' 'Bhalo Lage Joshna Rate,' and 'Hridoy Kadamati,' among others. His performance added a special touch to the evening, creating memorable moments for the audience.
Souls delivered a powerhouse performance, treating the audience to a remarkable repertoire of 16 songs during their two-hour show. A highlight of the evening was the debut stage performance of Rupa Barua, the daughter of the renowned singer Partha Barua, alongside Souls.
Partha Barua, reflecting on the significance of the concert, said, "The Melbourne concert holds profound significance for Souls, especially on the occasion of our 50th anniversary. The collaboration with Nakib Khan on the same stage was an unexpected delight. Together, we were able to provide the audience with a truly remarkable show."
"My daughter, Rupa, is a student in Melbourne, and she occasionally sings. I never imagined that she would join us on stage today. It is an incredibly special moment for me and a cherished memory in my long musical career," he added.
Souls is scheduled to continue their concert tour with upcoming performances in Adelaide on September 23 and Perth on September 24. The band is set to return home at the end of the month, marking a successful culmination of their international tour.
In recent times, Souls has released five new songs, namely 'Sagorer Prantore,' 'Kita Bhaisab,' 'Riksa,' 'Jodi Dekho,' and 'Hawai Mithai.'
