Tanvir Shake performed in the lights of Times Square, NY

Tanvir Shake, Founder and Chief Secretary of Blackflame Theatre and the young actor of the country's theater scene, participated in a solo performance as the first Bangladeshi in the lights of Times Square, New York, United States the world capital.

Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU) and Burmese Rohingya Association of North America (BRANA) organized a three daylong arrangement from September 17-19 including protest demonstration,  cultural program and award event in front of the United Nations,  Times Square and Ozone Park respectively during the ongoing United Nations General Session. The mime artist Shake Tanvir  Ahmed performed an 8-minute solo performance during the 2 day of the event at 7pm, Times Square the world capital. Mr. Ahmed said that the movement-based performance art production titled The Dark History is about Myanmar's brutality on the Rohingyas and the return of millions of Rohingyas who have taken refuge in Bangladesh.

The head of Blackflame Theater Shake Tanvir Ahmed also said that, Dr. Wakar Uddin Award 2023 will be given to the couple of world renowned personalities who contribute for Rohingya people in different ways at the closing ceremony of the event at Ozone Park in New York on September 19 and there he is getting an honorary Best Performance Award for special contribution in the Art and Culture category. He also quoted that this was the first solo performance of a Bangladeshi artist in Times Square.
