Shake Tanvir Ahmed has been honoured with the Best Theatre Actor award at an event titled 'Shilpangon Nattyomela 2023,' a theatre festival organised by the Centre for Bangla Creative Works Inc., a Bengali theatre organization in the United States. He received this award in recognition of his acting talent and contributions to the theatre.
The award was presented to Tanvir during the festival's closing ceremony, held at Levittown Hall in Long Island, New York, on September 24.
The accolade was presented by the renowned Bangladeshi theatre personality and Ekushey Padak recipient, actor Abul Hayat, along with his wife Mahfuza Khatun Shirin, in the presence of the media and a packed audience.
During the festival, Tanvir showcased his remarkable acting abilities in two consecutive plays. He played a role in the classic drama 'King Oedipus,' produced by the theatre organization 'Krishti' and directed by popular actress Bonna Mirza. Additionally, he delivered a mime performance in the foreign play 'Joma Khorch Iza,' produced by the theatre organization Shilpangon and directed by Nazrul Islam.
Tanvir, an actor and the Founder and Chief Secretary of Blackflame Theatre, is currently pursuing his studies at Trine University in the United States.
With over 15 years of experience in the theatre arena, he has received national and international awards and has also participated in various festivals both in Bangladesh and abroad.
