Anirudho Rasel, a renowned and highly talented producer, has solidified his position in the television media industry over several years. He achieved this milestone by producing tele-dramas, drama serials, web series, telefilms, television commercials (TVC), and documentaries. Recently, he undertook the production of a full-length film centred around 'Jamdani,' a Geographical Indication (GI) product recognized by UNESCO. In an exclusive interview with Nisha Mahmuda of The Daily Messenger, Rasel shared insights into his work and aspirations. Here are excerpts from the interview:

The Daily Messenger: Can you tell us about the movie 'Jamdani'?

Rasel: While the film's storyline revolves around the history, tradition, and pattern of Jamdani, my primary focus has been on portraying the craftsmanship and marketing system behind it. The film is funded by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. We have already completed ninety percent of the shooting, featuring prominent actors such as Ziaul Roshan, Shiba Ali Khan, Aliraj, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Fazlur Rahman Babu, and more.

Messenger: When can we expect the completion of the remaining portions of the movie?

Rasel: Currently, we have two songs left to work on. We have grand plans for these songs, and we are in the process of finalising locations, choreographers, and costumes. As soon as everything is set, we will commence shooting in the middle of next month.

Messenger: Do you have a release date in mind for the movie?

Rasel: It won't be possible to release the film this year because shooting, editing, and post-production work will continue until December. However, I aim to select a special day for its release.

Messenger: What are your future plans in the film industry?

Rasel: I dream of internationalising Bangladeshi films, and I am actively working towards that goal. Following 'Jamdani,' we have plans to produce another film centred around another GI product, titled 'Ilish.'
