‘The 3rd International Dental Implant Congress (IDIC) and Dental Expo-2024’ were held in Dhaka.
The Dental Implant Association of Bangladesh (DIAB) organised the event at the Radisson Blue Water Garden Hotel located in the Dhaka Cantonment area on Friday, (8 March). It was presided over by President and Chief Petron of DIAB, IDIC Major General (retired) Professor Dr. Golam Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
The Secretary General of the organisation, Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, spoke about the past, present and upcoming plans of DIAB. He said that since 2017, DIAB has been tirelessly playing a leading role in the expansion of modern medical methods of tooth replacement in Bangladesh. In continuation of this, the successful organisation of an international conference with four hands-on activities was held in two days.
At this time, two small documentaries about the role of the Dental Implant Association in the Bangladeshi dentistry industry, 'Bangladesh: Land of Emerging Dentistry' and on the occasion of International Women's Day the role of women dentists in Bangladesh were shown.
More than 1,000 graduate and postgraduate dental surgeons participated in this event. At this time, domestic and foreign renowned implantologists were present as speakers in the scientific session.
On the podium of the conference, nine local and foreign doctors discussed modern treatment methods regarding dental implants.
Among the dental surgeons, Professor Dr. Syed Mozammel Hossain, Professor Dr. Emadul Haque, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraf Hossain, Professor Dr. Aziza Begum, President of the Bangladesh Dental Society Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kashem, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Dental Society and Principal Professor of Dhaka Dental College Dr. Humayun Kabir Bulbul were present at the event.
Apart from this, DGME's line director, Md. Dr. Mosharraf Hossain Khandkar, Director of Dental Education of DGME AFM Shahidur Rahman Limon and leaders of other dental colleges and organisations were present there.
