Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Nilufer Nazneen has said that we have to achieve goal 3 of the SDGs by 2030.
She said this while participating as a special guest on the last day of a nine-day-long training to collect data on the progress of achieving the SDG’s Goal-3 (Health &Wellbeing) of the World Health Survey Plus Bangladesh-2023 at the meeting room of Dhaka Ahsania Mission on Tuesday (29 August) afternoon.
The survey is being conducted by Dhaka Ahsania Mission in collaboration with The World Health Organization and HelpAge International.
She said that goal 3 of the SDGs is a reflection of the health situation of the whole of Bangladesh. By 2030, we need to achieve the target of the SDGs’ Goal 3. Addressing the trainees,
she also said that through this health survey, the picture of how much we could reach the target of SDG will emerge. So show your responsibility by going door to door across the country and bringing out the correct information.
She assured to be by the side of these data collectors for any support in data collection. She thanked the World Health Organization and HelpAge International along with the Dhaka Ahsania Mission for conducting this useful survey to achieve SDG goal 3.
Iqbal Masud, Director of Health and Wash Sector, Dhaka Ahsania Mission delivered the welcome speech. Also, the Representative from World Health Organization (WHO) Head Quarter Nirmala Naidoo, WHO Consultant Dr. James Joss, Health Program Coordinator of Help Age International, Myanmar Poppy Walton, Country Director of HelpAge International Bangladesh Jahangir Alam and Consultant of World Health Survey Plus of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Dr. Mohammad Hayatun Nabi were present on the occasion among others as the spokesperson.
A total of 88 trainees took part in the nine-day-long training, which began on Monday morning (21st August) to collect information from 6,000 households in eight divisions of Bangladesh.
