Tens of thousands of Afghans have been fleeing from Pakistan across the rugged border back to Taliban-run Afghanistan.

Previously, the Pakistan govt. had given all foreign nationals without proper documents until November 1 to leave the country voluntarily and threatened arrest and expulsion of anyone who failed to follow the directions showing security concerns.

Recently, following Pakistani Govt’s security concerns Islamabad’s security forces have tracked up to 1.7 million undocumented migrants. The vast majority of undocumented foreign citizens in Pakistan are Afghans.

At least 140,000 people had returned to Afghanistan by Thursday (2 November) evening, reported a Pakistani government official.

Different aid organizations expressed their concern amidst the ongoing mass exodus and warned of ‘dire’ conditions.

They expressed fear for people's survival and reintegration into Afghan society, which has grappled with a humanitarian crisis sparked by decades of war, natural disasters, and a struggling economy.
