President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden held a summit meeting at the Filoli Estate, San Francisco on Wednesday (15 November). The two heads of state had in-depth exchange of views on strategic and predominant issues vital for China-U.S. relations. They also discussed major issues affecting world peace and development.
Their summit meeting was held at Filoli Estate, a country house approximately 40 km south of San Francisco, California.
In the meeting, Chinese President Xi Jinping remarked that China does not have a plan to surpass or unseat the United States, and the United States should not scheme to suppress and contain China.
China’s principled position on the Taiwan question was one of the most significant issues discussed in the meeting.
President Xi Jinping emphasized that the U.S. side should take sincere actions to honor its commitment of not supporting "Taiwan independence," stop arming Taiwan, and support China's peaceful reunification.
"China will realize reunification, and this is unstoppable," Xi said during his summit meeting with U.S.
They also discussed jointly shouldering global leadership responsibilities as major countries. They talked on stepping up coordination and cooperation on international and regional issues, and providing more public goods for the world.
The two heads of state also exchanged views on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and other international and regional issues of mutual concern.
