A total of 58% of Germans are against sending long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine and 31% of them completely reject the idea of arms deliveries to Kiev, a poll by YouGov for German news agency dpa showed on Wednesday (6 March).
On the other hand, the delivery of Taurus missiles to Ukraine was supported by 28% of respondents and another 14% were undecided. The poll marked a downward trend in support for the Taurus missile initiative, as in early February it received the support of 31% of respondents and another 49% were opposed, dpa reported.
The survey also showed that 72% of Germans participating in the poll supported German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that sending troops to Ukraine was an unacceptable measure, with only 16% saying the question should remain open and 2% accepting an immediate dispatch of troops.
The poll was conducted from March 1-5 among 2,169 eligible German voters, with no data on the margin of error provided.
