Polish farmers have unblocked the Korczowa - Krakovets border crossing on the Polish-Ukrainian border, Andriy Demchenko, the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said on Sunday ( 10 March).
“Polish protesters have unblocked the border crossing in Krakovets, we received such information from our Polish colleagues,” Demchenko told Ukraine's Rada TV broadcaster.
The unblocking is temporary, as on March 13 the traffic of cargo vehicles through the border crossing will be closed again, he said.
The situation at other border crossings has not changed with around 2,300 trucks still queuing to pass the checkpoints, the spokesperson said.
Polish farmers began a nationwide protest on February 9. They are blocking roads and access to checkpoints at the border with Ukraine. The protesters are demanding that the duty-free import of agricultural products from Ukraine be stopped and EU climate policies eased.
