At least seven people were killed and over 20 were injured on Tuesday (12 March) when Israeli troops fired at dozens of Palestinians lined up to receive humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, less than two weeks after a similar incident, Al Araby broadcaster reported.
The shooting reportedly took place near the Kuwait roundabout in the northern Gaza Strip.
On February 29, the Palestinian authorities said the Israeli military opened fire at a crowd of people in Gaza City as they waited to receive humanitarian aid, killing 112 and injuring 760 others. Israel denied the death toll from its shooting was that high and claimed that most of the victims died in a crowd crush as people stormed the trucks loaded with aid. The Israel Defense Forces said its troops opened fire after several Palestinians approached an IDF tank and troops.
