The next concert of Russian rock band Piknik, scheduled for March 27 in St. Petersburg, will be dedicated to the victims of the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall that took place last week just before the start of the band's performance, the band announced on Monday (25 March).
"The next concert on our agenda is scheduled for March 27 in St. Petersburg. At the moment, the Piknik rock band, the Tauride international orchestra and the organizer, the Eva foundation, are looking for an opportunity to hold a memorial evening. The concert will be dedicated to the memory of the victims of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall," the band said in a statement on social media.
The musicians are receiving moral support and "share words of solidarity with the families of the victims and offer condolences to those who lost their lives," the statement added.
On Sunday, the group came to lay flowers in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack. The band's director, Yury Chernyshevsky, told Sputnik that his assistant Yekaterina Kushner was killed in the attack.
A shooting occurred on Friday evening at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in the city of Krasnogorsk, outside Moscow, followed by a massive fire. Several men wearing camouflage had broken into the music hall, shooting people point-blank and throwing incendiary bombs.
