NATO is discussing the proposal put forward by Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to create a fund worth 100 billion euros ($108 billion) for Ukraine for five years, Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib said on Wednesday (3 April).
"We will address the situation on the ground, Ukraine’s needs for now but also for the future, Jens Stoltenberg will propose to allocate 100 billion euros for the next 5 years from NATO towards Ukraine, we will envisage the feasibility of this proposition among us," Lahbib said ahead of the NATO foreign ministers' meeting.
Contributions to the future fund are proposed to be calculated in accordance with the GDP of member countries, the minister added.
