The authorities of Yingde County of the Qingyuan district in China's southern Guangdong Province have evacuated 832 people due to flooding, the state-run China Central Television broadcaster reported on Sunday (7 April).
The water level at the Yingde station reached 30.07 meters (98.6 feet) as of Sunday morning and surpassed the critical mark, the broadcaster reported. Houses and commercial buildings located along the bodies of water have been flooded, the report said.
As many as 34 people of 832 evacuated individuals have been transferred from areas affected by geological disasters, the report also said.
At the same time, the authorities did not instruct relevant bodies to suspend the operation of schools and enterprises in the flood-hit areas, the report added.
